The big, pink elephant is almost as much a symbol of the Palm Springs area as the Aerial Tramway.  Since 1966 Elephant Car Wash’s neon elephant has been a landmark.  Its iconic status has been featured in television shows, magazine articles, commercials and countless tourist photographs.
